PT1996.7 Nobody wants me

Many seeking a job for which they are perfectly suited, are frustrated by one of the “-isms.”
Unable to find a job (or even an interview) in the telecom industry, which had been my field for 30 years, I was back in school, working on an MEd in math. No problems with the course work, but the public school environment where I did my student teaching was showing red flags.
Loved teaching the students, but the administrators were so ideological that I knew it would be frustrating for me. Details in another post.
I never read the ads in the paper, but one in the local weekly caught my eye: “Wanted to buy: U.S. stamp collection.”
I had not thought of selling, but unemployment changed my thinking. Bill, an architect, didn’t want to pay what the collection was worth. Jeff, the engineer, wanted more. No sale, but Bill admired my carefully crafted album pages.
One evening several months later, Bill knocked on our door. He did not remember my name, but recognized the house. “Would you like a job? My electrical engineer just moved to Germany.”
I worked for Bill from 1996 until 2023. Best job I ever had.
Thank you, Lord, for Your awesome provision!
01/02/2025.
P.S. When I finally retired, I gave Bill the stamps...
