5G is awesome! It lets me access the knowledge of the world just by sticking my phone up! Word!

I guess today “word” means what “right on!” meant in the sixties. Both outdated now. But to a Christian it means so much more.

Scientists look at the world around us and, perhaps a few at least, wonder at the quantity of information it contains. Each tree, rabbit, or worm seems to require a massive set of blue prints. Like a building, which needs a three dimensional depiction at the start of the set, followed by floor plans of each level, then ceiling plans of each level, then elevations of each side aspect of the building. Then itemized lists of each door, light fixture, fan, power panel, plumbing fixtures, and more. At the very end of the drawing set we find “details,” which depict every little piece of every discipline..

Well, DNA does that.

No, it doesn’t. [2]

DNA only tells us how to build the individual cells, of the various types. [1] It’s as if you got a Lego - maybe the Harry Potter one, but no instructions, except how to fabricate each Lego piece. Architectural details are common among a multitude of building types, from airports to convenience stores. The drawings that came before (ie, the “plans”) are unique to every building. (Unless the building is an exact copy of a utilitarian functional building – like a tract home; a Pete Seeger “ticky tacky.”).

So...where does all that information come from? What tells the same kind of cell whether to start growing an arm, or to start on a fin?

God’s Word --Jesus Christ -– holds the universe together by the power of His Word. In fact, John says God = Word.

Word!
